Funding and How To Donate
Funding for Candy’s Place comes from direct donations and grants from community friends like you. We are not a member agency of United Way, however, you may designate your United Way contribution to the Center. We have several annual fund - raisers, with Candy’s Place Rainbow Walk being the largest.

Often when reading the obituary column in the newspaper, we notice that some of the deceased families request that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to a particular charity of the donor’s choice. We encourage you to make your memorial contributions to CANDY’S PLACE. Not only is your donation to us a loving tribute to the deceased loved one, but one which you can be assured will help cancer patients at the Center.
In addition to a general memorial donation, you may wish to consult our WISH LIST to designate purchasing a needed item for Candy’s Place. For example, the family of one of our deceased cancer patients called us to see what our Cancer Resource Center needed. Our staff member reviewed the WISH LIST with the family member, and they decided to donate two beautiful benches for our hallway (see photo). The benches are in “celebration” of their sister’s life, and are admired and used on a daily basis, adding a welcoming touch to all who enter our facility.
Perhaps your donation is not necessarily meant as a memorial to a deceased person. Many friends may give a monetary donation in support of our programs and services or to purchase an item from our WISH LIST.
These donations may be made in honor of a special occasion (wedding anniversary, bar mitzvah, holy communion, birthday, wedding, etc.)
